AKINROBOTICS moves AKINCI-5 humanoid robot into mass production

Konya-based AKINROBOTICS has brought AKINCI-5, a 19-joint humanoid robot built domestically from its motors to its software, into mass production.

AKINCI-5, a humanoid robot developed by the robotics company AKINROBOTICS in the Turkish city of Konya, was in the mass production stage as of 18 October 2026. According to the company, every part of the machine, from its motors to its software, was designed and built in Türkiye.

The robot's headline specifications are a body with 19 joints, dynamic balance control and onboard artificial intelligence hardware. The number of joints is one of the main factors shaping how freely a humanoid can move and what kinds of tasks it can realistically take on.

Balance and onboard AI

Dynamic balance control refers to the systems that keep a two-legged robot upright while it walks, turns or absorbs an unexpected push. It is widely regarded as one of the hardest engineering problems standing between humanoid prototypes and practical deployment.

Integrated AI hardware suggests that perception and decision-making can run on the robot itself rather than depending on a remote server. The information released so far does not detail the hardware's specifications, the planned production volume, pricing or the industries the robot will target.

A domestic entry in a global race

Humanoid robots have become one of the busiest corners of the AI industry. Companies in the United States and China are investing heavily in machines meant for factories, warehouses and service jobs, and many are racing to move from demonstrations to volume manufacturing.

Against that backdrop, building critical components such as motors and control software in-house makes AKINCI-5 notable for Türkiye's push to reduce reliance on imported robotics and AI hardware. How the robot performs in real-world settings, and how widely it is adopted commercially, will become clearer as production advances.
